This majestic bridge, spanning a distance of 2.32 kilometers, now holds the title of India's longest cable-stayed bridge.
Connecting Communities, Easing Pilgrimage:
The Sudarshan Setu bridges the gap between Okha on the mainland and Beyt Dwarka island, a historic pilgrimage site known for housing the revered Dwarkadhish Temple. Previously, reaching the temple involved relying on ferry services, which could be subject to weather conditions and delays. This new bridge will significantly ease travel for pilgrims and locals, reducing travel time and enhancing accessibility.
Beyond Functionality: A Blend of Design and Spirituality:
The bridge embodies a unique blend of functionality and cultural significance. Its design boasts a four-lane highway with dedicated 2.5-meter-wide footpaths on either side.
